Just a disclaimer: this post would be long and image intensive since this past month had been pretty eventful during weekends.

February is the month where me and the hubby are out on all weekends. I dunno, maybe it's because it's love month or it's the husband's birth month, I had tons of ideas on where to go on dates.

So last February 1st was our monthsary as bf/gf but we're not really planning to go anywhere that day. That's why he decided to let his sisters tag along with us. I had no photo of that day but we decided to have dinner at Samgyupsalamat in Banawe and have Hong Kong Style Milktea from Serenetea. Then we just suddenly decided to go for a late night drive to Rockwell so his little sister, LA could see the lights. Unfortunately, it's already late and lights are already off. Then we drove around BGC since she's been wanting to go there for a while. We also saw actress Bella Padilla at Rockwell when we decided to take a leak at Wildflour. Heehee!

Then the following weekend, while waiting for his folks to finish from their doctor's appointment, we decided to have an art gallery date at the Philippine National Museum. We went at the Museum of Fine Arts and the newly built Museum of Natural History. We took a stroll at Rizal Park and bought dirty ice cream. We decided to give this new cafe called La Cathedral a try, but unfortunately, the cafe was so jam packed, we waited for almost half an hour and then mom-in-law called to say they're done with their doctor's appointment and we need to pick em up. I ended up eating Starbucks since I was starving that day.


Then last February 20-22, me, the hubby, my mom and my dad went on a trip to Baguio City. I've been meaning to go to Baguio since Christmas, but knowing how traffic this mountain city could get on holidays, we decided to move it on a later date. It was supposed to be just me and the hubbs but my mom wanted to go to Baguio as well, so I decided to just let them join us.  It's my first time to actually stay overnight in Baguio. I've been there once after our wedding but on a day tour only with my sister and her family. So yeah, that's not counted and I'm considered a Baguio newbie. I have no clue where to go or eat and just relied on Google to show me where we can eat insta worthy foods and insta worthy restos cause my mom has a thing for taking pretty travel photos of herself. We stayed at a very nice place which I found through Airbnb. Good thing they are not booked since February was Flower Festival month in Baguio. But due to the Corona Virus incident, the festival got cancelled by a month. So maybe it's still a good thing since the good places to stay in Baguio are not booked and the city is not that crowded when we came there.

On our first day we went for lunch at Good Taste since I saw a blogger recommend that place for it's delicious yet cheap food. It was indeed delicious, cheap and the servings were huge! A must visit when in Baguio. After that we walked through Burnham Park and the hilly streets of Harrison Road, then went inside SM Baguio just to reach this cafe called Tsokolateria which my mom recommends since she already ate there. Their Tsokolate Batirol, the bitter sweet variant, was the bomb! It's like taking a sip of dark chocolate. Yum! Our day one ended there since we decided to go back to our Airbnb to rest since we walked tons and still haven't gotten a decent sleep. I was feeling sick too since my throat is feeling weird and I'm going down with a cold. What a timing! That's why I chugged 3 bottles of Smart C and downed a non drowsy Neozep and got a good shut eye so I could feel better the next day.

For our second day, we decided to go at La Trinidad. First off was the Stobosa Colorful Houses. Well, it's not that much of a tourist attraction though. We just took photos for a bit then took another cab to the Strawberry Farm and do some strawberry picking. My mom regretted it afterward though, since 1kl of strawberry from the farm was far more expensive from the ready picked strawberries at the markets outside. Well, as the guy manning the farm says, "You are paying for the experience." It was an okay experience, I guess. We took another cab to take us back to Session Road for lunch. The driver seems to have taken the long, scenic road back to the city which made our cab fare quite expensive. But it's okay since the views were amazing. We decided to have lunch at Oh My Gulay which is a vegan restaurant and and art gallery. Food was okay. A bit pricey since it's all vegan and organic. But the ambiance and the view from the top floor of the restaurant was the deal breaker. After a bit of shopping of pasalubongs, we headed back to our Airbnb, took a rest for a bit then went to Wright Park for the afternoon. We walked around the park, took photos, ate buttered corn, took more photos at The Mansion, then decided to walk again to go for our afternoon coffee at Cafe By The Ruins. This cafe is pricey! We just had coffee, hot chocolate and two orders of kamote bread with kesong puti and our bill was like for a full meal already. Well, good thing the cafe's ambiance was good too. Then on our last night, after buying our bus ticket home for the next day, we went to the famous Night Market in Harrison Road. The market opens around 9PM so we went home before midnight so that we could still have time to pack our stuff early the next day.

On our last day, we made a short stop at some famous Ukay-Ukay in Baguio. We ran out of time though since our bus leaves around 2PM and we need to check out from our Airbnb. So Antwerpt went back to our place, picked our luggage and went to the bus station by himself, while me, mom and dad look around Ukays. Hehe! We arrived back home safe after almost 7 hours of travel from Baguio to our house, Manila traffic included.
